不列颠百科全书免费向部落格开放

《不列颠百科全书》是当今世界上历史最悠久的百科全书，它和现在流行的维基百科之间最大的分别是，里面的每项条目都由专家编写，所以《不列颠百科全书》到今天都仍然是世界上最权威的百科全书。
然而，《不列颠百科全书》的内容不是免费的，无论是线上或线下，你都必须付钱才可以阅读，这和互联网上最有名的免费百科全书维基百科完全相反。
为了在竞争中存活下来，《不列颠百科全书》终于想到了利用互联网的方法，他们用了一种另类的方式来让网民们免费阅读内容。
Britannica Webshare 计划允许被批准的网站发布者（包括部落客）阅读和引用《不列颠百科全书》的内容，同时网站发布者可以直接链接百科全书的文章，让他的网站访客免费阅读该篇文章。
由于网站访客只能阅读网站发布者链接的文章，不能查阅其他的部分，《不列颠百科全书》得以维护付费用户的利益，这是两全其美的办法。
